Joint Undertakings under Horizon Europe: Chips Joint Undertaking

It affects semiconductor companies, research organisations, start-ups, SMEs, technology developers, and industrial sectors relying on advanced chips across the EU.

• Renames the Key Digital Technologies Joint Undertaking as the Chips Joint Undertaking.
• Adds tasks for design infrastructure, pilot lines, quantum chip capacities, and competence centres.
• Raises the EU contribution to up to €4.175 billion from Horizon Europe and Digital Europe.
• Allows participation limits, different funding rates, and European Chips Infrastructure Consortium-based actions.

Takes effect

The Regulation enters into force on the date of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
