This proposal simplifies EU food and farm rules by easing drone pesticide use, removing duplicate farm records, and repealing outdated food-contact plastics directives.

- Allows Member States to exempt approved drone pesticide spraying from the aerial spraying ban.
- Requires pesticides used by drones to be explicitly authorised after aerial-use risk assessment.
- Deletes duplicate farm records on veterinary treatments and animal deaths from animal welfare rules.
- Repeals two outdated plastics food-contact testing directives now covered by Regulation 10/2011.
- Takes effect
- The Directive enters into force on the twentieth day following publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
- Transitional law
- Member States must transpose drone rules within five years, and animal-record and repeal provisions within two years after entry into force.
