Who it affects

Armenian producers and exporters, especially small and medium-sized businesses and agricultural producers, gain easier access to the EU market. It also affects EU importers and competing producers for the covered goods.

Core of the proposal
  • Suspends ad valorem duties for listed Armenian products in Annex I.
  • Removes duties on eight agricultural products within tariff-rate quotas in Annex II.
  • Conditions preferences on origin rules, customs cooperation, and Armenia’s trade restrictions and conduct.
  • Allows temporary suspension or safeguard measures if imports harm EU markets or Armenia breaches conditions.

It enters into force the day after publication in the Official Journal and applies for two years from entry into force.
